Technical Requirements
1. What kind of equipment do I need?
Your computer will be your lifeline for contacting staff, viewing lectures and lecture
materials and completing assignments and activities and organising group work. You
will need a browser, a computer and some plug-ins which meet the following specifications:
Browser
Version 4.0 or higher, preferably the most recent version of Internet Explorer.
You can test your browser and download newer versions through links on the Internet.
You must have a Java-enabled browser to use the Virtual Classroom (chat site).

Plug Ins
Initially, you will also need an Adobe Acrobat Reader plug in to read some Portable
Document Format (pdf) files. You can download Adobe Acrobat Reader free from the
Internet.
To use the Dista-learning monitoring technology you can use Mac, Windows, Linux
or PC98. You will also need SkyPerfecTV! set top box and antenna.

2. Which operating platform do you recommend?
Windows XP with the latest Service
Pack, this is because it is most up to date operating system released by Microsoft
and come standard with the most recent release of Microsoft Explorer and Windows
Media player.

3. What software do I need?
Microsoft office package would be ideal. You will need
a word processor (such as Microsoft Word), a spreadsheet (such as Microsoft Excel),
PowerPoint to view lecture slides, and either Internet Explorer or Netscape (Internet
Explorer Version 5.5 is preferred).
When you are registered as a student through
your MyBondMBA website, you will have e-mail contact with other students, teachers
and administrators. However, if you want to use the e-mail more widely than this
you may need your own external account.

4. Will I need to contract with an Internet service provider (ISP)?
Yes, you will.
You require on-going access to the Internet for a number of reasons:
- To access the
MyBondMBA.com homepage containing subject materials
- To communicate with professors
and teaching assistants
- To view recommended websites and conduct additional research
for your projects
- To receive announcements about your courses
- To participate in
group discussions and virtual classes
- To use the Dista-learning technology through
the Business Breakthrough
You will also need to have an e-mail account to receive
e-mail messages from classmates and faculty. Most ISP's will provide you with an
e-mail account. Alternately, you can easily register for a free e-mail system through
one of the many on-line mail systems (for example Hotmail or Yahoo).
