Program Delivery
1. How are subjects delivered?
This MBA program is a multimedia experience that combines a balance of the following delivery platforms:
- Satellite Lectures: Lectures, forums and interactive discussions will be broadcast on BBT's satellite Channel (SkyPerfecTV! Ch 757). You may choose to watch lectures at the scheduled time or record and view them at your convenience. Recording the lectures gives you the opportunity to watch them more than once. All broadcast lectures are fully supported with online and interactive activities and materials.
- Study Tour: You will visit Bond University campus twice during your MBA program for intensive on-campus sessions. Each visit to campus lasts approximately one week and includes lectures, workshops, examinations, oral presentations, group assignments and networking activities.
- Streaming Lectures: Some lectures will be streamed via the Internet.
This means that you will be able to view these from your home or your office if
you have access to the Internet.
- Online Learning: As a student, you will have access to the iLearn website. It will become your hub of learning during your studies. This website allows you to view and download subject notes and additional reading materials, and access a huge range of related Internet resources. These online resources include the use of a number of academic resources and Internet sites that you would normally have to pay extra for. There are also on-line comprehension quizzes, developed to check your comprehension of key learning objectives of each lecture. In addition, this site provides communication links with lecturers and other students through a Virtual Classroom, discussion boards and e-mail.
- CD/DVD Lectures: Some lectures will be supplied in CD/DVD format. These will supplement other delivery modes.

2. Do I have to watch every lecture?
Although we monitor your attendance and encourage you to watch every lecture, we understand that sometimes, due to work or family pressures, you won’t be able to watch a lecture. There are a number of ways you can manage this. We suggest that you videotape every lecture. Not only will this cover you for times when you cannot watch it live, but it also allows you repeat, rewind or pause as you like. (Incidentally, you can tape record and watch the tape later, and still successfully complete the attendance checks – see Monitoring Technology).
In addition, the iLearn website has all the notes from each lecture (so you won’t have to chase these up from friends or professors like the old university days!). It includes any reading or discussion work that is set for ‘homework’. The website also gives you direct communication links with classmates and teaching staff to ask questions or comment on course work. In addition, the website will carry English transcripts of selected English language lectures.

3. Do all subjects have video lectures?
No, they don't. Some subjects are conducted entirely during your Study Tour at Bond University. These subjects, for example, Effective Negotiation, have been selected for on-campus delivery because they involve a great degree of interaction and participation from students.
Other more mechanical subjects such as Business Analysis Methods (a subject which involves a great degree of computer usage) are better suited to Internet-based learning. However, for all subjects- despite the delivery means - students have direct access to professors and a full range of support materials and activities.

4. Why are some subjects in English and some subjects in Japanese?
The program has been created specifically for Japanese managers and business people. The program combines the academic input of Bond University professors with professors from some of the finest universities in Japan. By presenting subjects in both Japanese and English, we aim to provide you with the best of both worlds.
The English language subjects will give you the skills and confidence to ensure that you are able communicate effectively in English in any work environment. This is a required skill nowadays for all global managers, and a key part of our MBA Program. However, at the same time we recognise that your own Japanese language communication skills should also be utilised and expanded. Hopefully, the Japanese subjects will take some of the pressure away from the learning environment and allow you to focus even more closely on the content. However, they should also give you an opportunity to extend your skills in communicating ideas clearly, and presenting logical conclusions in you own language.

5. Will I be able to meet other students?
Yes, you will. Interacting with other managers and business peers and sharing the learning experience is an important part of the educational process. Most subjects
will have at least one assignment or activity that involves group interaction. You may choose to do these activities in person (ideal if you live or work near other students) or online via the iLearn website.
The iLearn website is designed to facilitate communication with other students enrolled in your subjects. There are a number of ways you can do this. Students may choose whether or not they share their personal information like contact telephone numbers, e-mail address or career history with students via individual student ‘homepage’ (you can even post a photograph of yourself and create links to your favourite websites!). There are also Group Pages that allow a group to communicate, share files and interact online within the iLearn environment. This group work will be an important (and compulsory) part of your learning experience.
Of course, during your Study Tours you will have considerable networking opportunities with students from Japan and other countries.

6. How can I contact lecturers if I have a question?
By accessing the iLearn website you will be able to communicate directly with professors and teaching assistants for all subjects you are enrolled in. There are a number of ways you can do this online: Virtual Classrooms (which will be held weekly), discussion boards, announcements, and e-mail messages. You may also choose to telephone lecturers with questions or send faxes. Of course, you will also meet and have direct access to professors during on-campus sessions.

7. How will I know when lectures are being broadcast?
A complete subject outline, including lecture times and dates, is accessible via the iLearn website. Lectures and discussion times will also appear on your daily and weekly calendar to remind you of up-coming classes.
You will be informed of any broadcast schedule changes through the iLearn website: by way of e-mail from your professor and as a subject announcement.
