English Language Support

1. How does the program accomodate non-native English speakers?

A number of features have been built in to this program to make it easier for you. Firstly, Business Communication Skills available as an additional class, is specifically designed to build your academic and business communication and writing skills. Secondly the lectures have been created specifically for students who do not speak English as their first language. You should notice that the language content is easier for you to understand than other English language lectures you may have been exposed to. For example, professors will highlight and explain difficult vocabulary and common jargon. In addition, lecture notes, including PowerPoint slides, are available before all lectures. This allows you to prepare in advance. Moreover, some of the televised lectures will have transcripts available. Of subject, you will also be able to contact professors and teaching assistants to clarify any points that you do not understand.

During your Study Tour you will have the support and assistance of other students and the chance to discuss problems with professors and teaching assistants in Group work and live discussions.

Ultimately, it is your own responsibility to ensure that your English levels are up to standard. If you have any doubts contact the Program Adviser at adviser@mybondmba.com

2. If my English levels are not at the right standard, what can I do to improve them and how long will this take?

This depends on your current level and your learning ability. Bond University has its own English Language Institute (BUELI), where you may study subjects like English for Business. We also recommend a number of language schools in Japan that will help you to prepare for university-level English study. If you wish to receive more information, please contact Business Breakthrough.

3. What English language support is available for me during the subject?

In addition to the Business Communications Skills subject (at the start of your program) Bond has engaged Assignmentology to provide a professional feedback service on written assignments before they are submitted for assessment. The feedback provided by Assignmentology includes a review of the development and sequencing of information, ideas and arguments; evaluation of structure, organisation, referencing and quotations. The service also covers spelling, punctuation, grammer and assignment presentation.
